Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of acute care experience with trauma level facility exposure and ARRT-R certification.

Requirements

• BLS and ARRT-R certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience with some Level I, II, or III trauma facility experience
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in radiology, with most recent experience within the last year
• General x-ray skills including imaging of head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, and chest
• Comfortable working with trauma patients and performing bedside portables
• OR experience with spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and peds cases
• C-arm experience required, O-arm experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Strong clinical confidence, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain and Stroke Center designations
• 874 licensed beds with an average of 350-400 patients per day
• Radiology suites include 40 ORs with 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms, 2 x-ray rooms and 3 fluoro rooms on the main level, 2 ED rooms, and 15 portable units
• Adult and pediatric patient population including neonates from ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient services
• Rotates shift-by-shift between ED, OR, and Main radiology areas
• Uses Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, and GE O-arm equipment
• EPIC EMR used, experience required
• 12-hour day shift schedule, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week
• No floating outside of x-ray areas and portable coverage within the facility
• No call requirements
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have trauma facility experience
• Performs imaging across the full spectrum of radiology exams for high-acuity patients in a teaching hospital setting
• May be asked to precept x-ray students depending on experience level
• Works alongside MD residents and fellows, with radiologists always on site
• Support available includes Lead Tech, 24/7 Supervisor, Manager, RT coverage, Rapid Response/Code Team, and dedicated department transporter
• No rotation between weekend and weekday shifts; travelers remain on the same shift and days throughout the contract
• Works scheduled shift if it falls on a holiday
• RTO requires manager approval
• Up to 5 days of departmental orientation, flexible based on traveler needs
• Black scrubs required; OR scrubs provided if assigned to that area
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not accepted
