Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment at a Stockton, California facility. The PTA will assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility and reduce pain, and will document progress for continued care.

Requirements include a valid PTA license and current BLS certification; preferred candidates include graduates from accredited programs and prior PTA experience, with new grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (AHA/ARC) on file.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are clean and ready for sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength and balance.
• Observe patient performance and report progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
• Record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with PTs, OTs and other clinicians for coordinated care.
• Maintain a safe, compliant treatment environment following infection control protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.
