Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a long-term care rehab setting requiring at least 1 year of PTA experience in LTC or SNF. The position features a 13-week assignment with day shifts in a skilled nursing facility, and no weekends or on-call requirements.

Applicants must hold an active PTA license if applicable, have a minimum of 1 year PTA experience, and provide one reference. New grads with Level II clinical experience may apply; compact license is accepted.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license required if applicable.
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required.
• New grads considered if Level II clinical experience (not Level I observation) is completed.
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required.
• One reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility within the Physical Therapy department.
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule (8-hour shifts).
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Compact license accepted.
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment under supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Administer manual techniques, ambulation training, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices.
• Assess and communicate patient progress with supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans.
• Document treatment and regulatory information in the electronic record system accurately.
• Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, and facility-required trainings.
• Support and supervise PTA students under PT guidance.
• Adhere to APTA and state practice standards and codes of conduct.
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested.
