Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed PT according to the plan of care
• Lead therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, mobility work, balance training, and strength conditioning
• Apply modalities and interventions as ordered; monitor patient responses and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
• Document treatment sessions, progress toward goals, and outcomes; contribute to interdisciplinary care planning
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, device management, and safe equipment use
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and continuation of care after discharge

Requirements

• Current Maine Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility for licensure
• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience in LTAC or skilled nursing rehab preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing/LTAC setting and to follow the plan of care
• Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
