Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare seeks a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant for an LTAC assignment in Falmouth, Maine. The 13-week contract starts 11/09/2026 with dayshifts 08:00–16:30, 35 hours per week in a long-term care setting.

The PTA will work under a licensed PT, progressing treatment plans, documenting outcomes, and assisting with discharge planning. Maine licensure eligibility and travel willingness are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility in Maine.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• LTAC or skilled nursing experience preferred; ability to work effectively within a rehab team.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA services under the supervision of a licensed PT, focusing on functional mobility and activities of daily living.
• Implement and progress prescribed treatment plans, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance work, and ROM activities.
• Monitor patient responses, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT and care team.
• Assist with patient education, safety, and discharge planning; support correct use of transfers and assistive devices.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold infection control and safety standards in a long-term care setting.
