Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Service Floater to perform daily phlebotomy activities at PSCs or in-office PST settings. Travel is required to cover client locations, with interaction with clients, patients, and PathGroup staff. Duties include specimen collection, data entry, and adherence to safety protocols.

The role emphasizes accurate procedures, patient communication, and timely processing of specimens across designated regions, with a focus on professional, courteous service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical training in a clinical setting is preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
  • Phlebotomy Certification is preferred (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

  • Travel to a client assignment within a designated region with short notice.
  • Greet customers and treat all customers courteously.
  • Ensure all field patient service and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
  • Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures clearly to patients.
  • Dispose of biohazard materials per laws and policies.
  • Enter patient and specimen data into Pathconnect and other PathGroup systems.
  • Package and transport specimens, ensuring proper labeling and temperature control.
  • Maintain daily records and patient service logs.
  • Assist with monthly statistics and basic clerical duties.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
Medical training as medical assistant or paramedic
Phlebotomy Certification
