Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Service Floater to travel to client assignments across designated regions and perform daily phlebotomy at PSC or in-office PST, following established procedures.

You will greet patients, collect specimens accurately, explain procedures calmly, and maintain precise records. Travel on short notice and reliable transportation are required to meet client needs and uphold quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Ready to travel to client assignments within a region on short notice.
• Greet customers and treat them courteously.
• Collect specimens accurately and on time; explain venipuncture clearly.
• Dispose of biohazards per laws and policies; label and process specimens.
• Enter patient and billing information; ensure accuracy and verify orders.
• Match requisitions to specimens; package and transport specimens properly.
• Maintain daily records and PSC/IOPST logs; assist with monthly statistics.
• Perform basic clerical duties and electronic data entry; adhere to safety policies.
