Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse for a day-shift assignment in Montpelier, VT. This full-time/contract travel role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to students, managing health conditions, and coordinating with educators and families.

The ideal candidate has pediatric or school health experience, an active RN license (VT or compact), BLS, and prefers BSN; ADN accepted with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BSN strongly preferred; ADN accepted with pediatric or school health experience.
• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Vermont (or multi-state/compact).
• BLS certification required; PALS or School Health Nurse certification preferred.
• Pediatrics, school health experience.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and standardized health record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care & Triage: Provide immediate nursing care for illnesses, injuries, and emergencies on campus.
• Medication & Care Plans: Administer medications and manage care plans for students with chronic conditions.
• Health Screenings & Compliance: Coordinate immunization records and health screenings.
• Education & Promotion: Educate students, families, and school staff on health promotion and hygiene.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR and school health logs.
• Community Collaboration: Liaise with local health departments and families to coordinate care.
