Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This PCU role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience and 12-hour rotating shifts, with a 13-week duration and 36 hours per week.

As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will monitor patients closely, manage medications, and respond to changes in condition. Ideal candidates are flexible, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• PCU/step-down experience preferred.
• Flexibility for travel assignments and 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Administer and monitor medications, noting adverse reactions.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays for changes.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring shows alarm patterns.
