Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The PCU RN will monitor cardiac and other vital signs, administer medications, and respond to changes in patient condition.

The role is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, with 12-hour rotating shifts in a travel capacity. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of acute care experience and must hold ACLS and BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 2 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Administer and record prescribed medications; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring data.
