Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week travel assignment in Abilene, Texas. The role requires 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, and travel employment.

The PCU RN will care for patients needing close monitoring but not ICU care, manage IVs, dressings, meds, and complex device monitoring. ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications and 1–2 years acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required or to be obtained prior to assignment.
• PCU experience and ability to monitor cardiac patients favored.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and monitor adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and equipment displays; respond to changes.
• Perform corrective actions based on monitoring data to ensure patient safety.
