Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Service Floater to perform phlebotomy duties and support client sites. This role travels to designated regions with short notice, providing courteous patient service and accurate specimen collection.

You will process specimens, enter data into PathConnect, and maintain precise records while adhering to safety and privacy guidelines. The position requires high school or equivalent, with preferred phlebotomy certification and medical training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic is preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification is preferred; required in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client assignments within a designated region with short notice.
• Greet customers in a courteous manner and provide professional service.
• Ensure speciment collection is accurate and on time per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture procedure clearly and maintain a calm environment.
• Disposes of biohazards according to laws and policies.
• Enter patient and billing information into PathConnect and other systems.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain correct storage conditions.
• Maintain daily records and PSC/IOPST logs.
• Assist with inventory counts and periodic reporting.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
