Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide routine treatments under the supervision of a licensed OTA. You will document patient progress and communicate changes to supervising therapists as part of a collaborative care team.

Required is an Associate degree in OTA, eligibility for state licensure, and BLS certification. Preferred is an active OTA license in the state of practice.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Eligibility for state OTA licensure by examination and current state license prior to start date.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.
• Preferred: current OTA license in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician under supervision of a licensed OTA.
• Communicates and documents changes in patient status and notifies the therapist of reassessment.
• Maintains patient records according to documentation standards and policies.
• Participates in staff and committee projects; contributes to productivity goals.
• Educates and trains others within the discipline.
