Job summary

TotalMed RN seeks an Operating Room travel nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment in Clearlake, CA. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and certifications ACLS, BLS and NRP.

You will support surgeons, care for patients before and after surgery, and help educate families on care and medications. Expect 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, with duties expanding to instrument handling, patient safety, and possible RN First Assistant tasks.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NRP required.
• 1–2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education.
• Prepare, administer and record meds; monitor reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
• Provide patient education on medications and home care needs.
• Monitor and handle instruments; assist with inventory pre/post-procedure.
• Assist RN First Assistant as needed during procedures.
