Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an operating room travel nurse (OR - RN) for an assignment in Springfield, IL. The position is a 26-week travel role with 40 hours per week and 10-hour shifts in the evenings, starting 11/16/2026, with duties across circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurses, plus BLS and RN licensure.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse.
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required before assignment.
• Travel nursing assignment in Springfield, IL for OR RN role.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed and monitor patient during surgery.
• Perform tasks for circulating/scrub RN or RN first assistant as assigned.
• Stand/walk for long periods; handle lifting up to 50 pounds when needed.
