Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) for a 26-week assignment in Springfield, Illinois. The role supports OR teams as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant, with 40 hours per week on a rotating 10-hour shift.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of acute care experience in the OR, BLS certification, and flexibility to travel. Travel nurses receive weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and a comprehensive benefits package from TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• BLS certification required.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients.
• Serve as circulator or scrub nurse and support RN first assistant as needed.
• Prepare instruments, monitor patient during surgery, and handle equipment.
• Educate patients and families on home care and medications.
