Job summary

TotalMed RN in Reston, VA seeks an OR Travel Nurse (RN) to support surgical teams as circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant. Ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience and is comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

You will assist physicians, prepare instruments, administer meds, educate patients, and coordinate with families. Travel assignments feature 12-hour shifts with a tax-free stipend and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in an operating room setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as communication liaison between patient families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
