Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This 13-week assignment requires 40 hours per week, with 10-hour day shifts.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and may also serve as RN First Assistant. As an OR Travel Nurse, you will support surgical teams, manage instrument handling, provide perioperative care, and educate patients pre- and post-operatively.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• 2 years of acute care experience
• Experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse
• Potential RN First Assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education.
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to potential complications.
• Prepare instruments and manage instrument inventory.
• Administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Act as liaison between patients, family and operating room team.
