Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Johnstown, PA. The role involves assisting surgical teams, performing pre- and post-operative care, and potentially acting as circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant. Expect 40 hours per week over a 13-week assignment with rotating 8-hour shifts.

Applicants should have 1–2 years acute care experience as described, ACLS/BLS/CPI certifications, and willingness to travel. Benefits and tax-free stipends are included per TotalMed RN policy.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications and minimum clinical experience in OR (1.5 years).
• Experience as OR nurse including circulating/scrub/first assistant is often required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients.
• Circulating OR Nurses work outside the sterile field; Scrub OR Nurses handle instruments in the sterile field.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient; maintain patient education.
• Initiate patient education plan and teach families how to manage home care needs.
