Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with 40 hours per week.

Shift is 8 hours rotating; experience as a circulating or scrub OR nurse is preferred, ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications required, and travel experience is a plus. As an OR Travel Nurse, you will support physicians and OR staff, provide pre- and post-surgery education, manage instruments, and ensure patient safety throughout

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications required.
• 1.5 years of acute care experience as circulating/scrub RN preferred.
• Travel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Assist physicians and OR staff in caring for surgical patients; monitor patient during surgery.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patient families and OR team; ensure correct procedures.
• Initiate patient education for home care and medication management.
• Assist with instrument handling and inventory pre- and post-procedure.
• Help control bleeding and suture patients after surgery.
