Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse (RN) for a Springfield, IL assignment. This 13-week travel role requires 48 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts, with opportunities in the operating room as circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care OR experience, BLS, and are ready to start ASAP. Travel benefits and a tax-free stipend package are provided through TotalMed's travel nursing program.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Illinois).
• 1–2 years acute care OR experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide OR bedside care and circulate or scrub as assigned.
• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Prepare, administer and record medications; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Ensure correct procedures performed on the correct patient and communicate with team.
• Educate patients and families on post-op care and home meds.
