Job summary

TotalMed RN in Sterling, VA is seeking an OR travel nurse for a 13-week assignment. The role requires 40 hours weekly with 10-hour day shifts and may include circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant duties. 1–2 years of acute care experience and ACLS/BLS are preferred.

As an OR travel nurse, you will support surgical teams, provide pre- and post-operative care and education, and maintain patient safety in a fast-paced theater environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of acute care experience as circulating/scrub RN or RN first assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients, family and operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medication and home care needs.
