Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an OR travel nurse in Washington, MO to join a 13-week assignment. The RN will cover 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, and travel responsibilities. ACLS/BLS/PALS certified with 1–2 years acute care experience preferred as circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications.
• Availability for 13-week travel assignment in Washington, MO.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families home care needs.
• Respond to comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Monitor and handle specimens; inventory of surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
• Assist instruments and supplies handling during procedures.
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients after surgery.
