Job summary

TotalMed RN in Washington, DC is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant, with 36 hours weekly across 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities include assisting surgical teams, basic bedside care, medication administration, patient education, and ensuring correct procedures. Must have BLS; travel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• Candidate should be able to work 12-hour day shifts.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients and families.
• Perform basic bedside care and administer prescribed medications.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed and maintain communication within the OR team.
