Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR Scrub RN to travel to Machias, ME for a 13-week assignment. This RN will support the operating room team as a circulating or scrub nurse with 1–2 years of acute care experience and current BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials.

The role requires 12-hour day shifts, blocks of 36 hours per week, and travel readiness. Ideal candidates are comfortable standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced surgical setting, with responsibilities including

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse or scrub nurse.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; additional certifications may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients during procedures.
• Prepare and handle operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field.
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to potential complications with the physician.
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Inventory of surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications as directed.
