Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• Possibly RN first assistant.
• Active nursing license required (RN).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Stand/walk for long periods; ability to lift 20–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients during procedures.
• Scrub OR nurses must handle and prepare operating instruments within sterile field.
• Prepare, monitor and assist during procedures; respond to complications with physician.
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Inventory surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
