Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring appropriate equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available.
• Monitor patients' conditions and respond promptly to changes during perioperative care.
• Follow established infection prevention, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment when managing complex surgical cases.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Prioritize care and respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.
• Participate in rotating shifts, weekend coverage, and on-call responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Current, active RN license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience within the last 3 years; 3 years of recent OR experience is strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of Level I Trauma experience within the last 3 years.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience within the last 3 years.
• Strong clinical proficiency across multiple surgical specialties.
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.
• Willingness to work weekends and participate in on-call coverage.

Preferred Clinical Experience

Candidates should have strong proficiency in the following areas:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedics
• Neurosurgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Trauma Surgery
• Robotics, including Da Vinci systems and cardiac/drive machine experience
• Transplant Surgery

Experience across these specialties is highly desirable. Transplant experience is preferred but is not a strict requirement. OR nurses are not required to scrub.
