Job summary

The VIOS Clinic is seeking an Inpatient Occupational Therapist (OT IP) specializing in hand therapy in Berkeley, CA. You will provide targeted assessments, fabricate splints, educate patients and families, and manage a range of hand and upper-extremity conditions as part of an interdisciplinary team.

You must hold a California OT license and BLS certification with at least five years of outpatient hand therapy experience; CHKT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid California OT license.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 5 years of outpatient hand therapy experience.
• Experience with splint fabrication.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized inpatient therapy services.
• Evaluate patients and progress.
• Fabricate splints for orthopedic upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and home care.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate electronic charting using Epic.

Job description

Role:

Inpatient Occupational Therapist (OT IP) specializing in hand therapy.

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized assessments, fabricate splints, deliver patient and family education, and manage orthopedic upper extremity conditions including post-operative, acute injuries, and chronic cases. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensure safety protocols, and maintain accurate electronic charting using Epic.

Qualifications:

Valid California OT license, BLS certification, minimum 5 years of outpatient hand therapy experience, and degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Experience with splint fabrication and managing diverse orthopedic cases is required. Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred.

Skills:

Expertise in hand therapy, proficiency in electronic medical records, strong patient education, and teamwork abilities.

Key Duties:

Deliver specialized inpatient therapy services, evaluate patients, fabricate splints, educate patients and families, and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
