Job description

Role: Outpatient Occupational Therapist specializing in hand therapy, responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services.

• Key Duties: Deliver outpatient hand therapy, including splint fabrication and rehabilitation for upper extremity conditions, treat orthopedic diagnoses, and manage post-operative, acute, and chronic cases.
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement plans of care, and document evaluations and progress using Epic EMR.
• Educate patients and families, provide home exercise programs, and promote safety and injury prevention.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid OT license (if applicable) and current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of outpatient hand therapy experience.
• Expertise in splint fabrication, including static, dynamic, and functional splints (Orthoplast, serial/inhibitory).
• Experience with orthopedic upper extremity conditions, modalities (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound), and patient evaluation.
• Preferred: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), proficiency in modalities, and experience with EMR systems.

Key Requirements

• Providing outpatient hand therapy services to diverse patient populations from pre-teens to geriatrics.
• Work in a day shift schedule, 5 days a week, with 8-hour shifts.
• Local candidates within 50 miles preferred.
• Re-orientation only if previously oriented and separated for 6+ months.
