Job summary

Critical Connection, inc seeks a travel Occupational Therapist in Springfield, Missouri for a 12-week assignment within an outpatient setting. The role emphasizes hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity rehabilitation in orthopedic contexts.

The candidate should be a licensed OT with 1–2 years of hand therapy experience; a CHT is preferred. The work includes evaluation, custom splinting, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in the state of practice.
• Preferred: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
• 1–2 years in hand therapy or outpatient ortho.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity conditions including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and chronic conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings.
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses.
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
