Job summary

Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking an RN for a Travel PCU assignment in Marshfield, WI. The role involves 12-hour night shifts, neuro-focused and trauma-ortho care, with float to related units as needed and no on-call requirement.

Eligible candidates will have 2+ years in medical-surgical or PCU, ventilator/drip experience, and BLS/NIHSS certifications. Start date 11/09/2026 for 13 weeks, with host facility Level 2 traumacenter standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical/PCU/ICU experience
• Neuro-focused care including strokes and neuro deficits
• Tracheostomy and ventilator experience preferred; training available

Responsibilities

• Work 12-hour shifts on nights, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Care for neuro and trauma/ortho patients with team-based approach
• Titrate drips (Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin)
• Operate respiratory equipment and float to sister units as needed

Job Details

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Typically 2-3 holidays required during winter, otherwise every other holiday
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Self-scheduling with manager balancing, schedule opens 6 weeks in advance
• Unit orientation consists of 1 general shift and 1 shift with a preceptor
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6 dependent on acuity
• Nurse aide support available: Days 1:9, Nights 1:12
• Care for patients with neuro-focused diagnoses including strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, Myasthenia Gravis, spinal injuries, thrombectomies, TNK/TPA 24 hours post, AMS, and dementia
• Care for trauma and orthopedic patients including hematomas, bleeds, falls on blood thinners, and farm and MVA accident injuries
• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, 3%, and Insulin
• Operate respiratory therapy equipment including vents, trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and EtCO2
• Floating required to sister medical-surgical units across 6 specialties including mixed care, cardiac, general, MS ortho, and heme/onc
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical, PCU, or ICU experience required with experience in setting within the last 1 year
• Drip experience required
• Tracheostomy and ventilator experience highly preferred; willing to train on vents for candidates open to learning
• Charting system: Cerner
• Any solid color scrubs required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS

The progressive care unit focuses on neurological and trauma orthopedic patients, supported by advanced respiratory therapy equipment and centralized monitoring.
