AZAD is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a Full-Time W2 Contract position in Pikeville, Kentucky. Candidates must reside 75+ miles away from Pikeville, KY.
Schedule:Days working hours.
Assignment Duration: The initial assignment length is 16-weeks with a probability of being extended.
Compensation & Benefits: The hourly compensation pay rate range is between $41.00 - $45.00, in addition daily non-taxed stipends of lodging $110.00, and Meal $68.
Total Estimated Weekly Income:$2,886.00 - $3,046.00
Benefits include Co-paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Cafeteria Plan, and 401k.
Job Summary:
The Client is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to prepare and administer radioactive drugs for imaging or treatment. They operate specialized equipment to capture images of how drugs affect the body and assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various conditions. Responsibilities include patient preparation, radiopharmaceutical handling, imaging procedures, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Essential Functions:
• Performs venipuncture as required for exam.
• Measures and administers isotopes for procedure.
• Positions patient to obtain desired views.
• Performs series of images as appropriate.
• Send images to PACS for Radiologist interpretation.
• Completes documentation for radiation safety program and equipment testing.
• Prepares patient for exam by completing questionnaires and other documentation required for procedure •Educates patient and/or family on procedure to be performed. Checks prep and maintains patient exam, history and files.
• Rotates call assignment as needed for 24-hour coverage; schedules patients in section and coordinates scheduling with other departments to ensure patient flow.
• Maintains and rotates supplies in assigned workstation and demonstrates cost-effective use of departmental resources.
• Adheres to dress code.
• Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees.
• Meets all departmental specific competencies.
• Adheres to medical center policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the medical center code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
• Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment -required.
• Knowledge of Keyboard Patient Registration and Sieman Software - required.
• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology/Nuclear Medicine program - required.
* 12-24 months of prior travel experience - required.
