Schedule Details/Additional Information:

A minimum of 2 shifts a month and participation in the on-call rotation, including one on-call holiday per year.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Perform basic to advanced nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including therapy, QMP, PET/CT, and backup for nuclear pharmacist duties.
  2. Review patient records and physician orders to ensure accurate exams, obtain medical history, and verify requisitions.
  3. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct medications per prescriptions, perform venipuncture, and handle vascular access devices following safety protocols and ALARA principles.
  4. Communicate pertinent patient information to staff and departments.
  5. Post-process images, label accurately, and ensure proper documentation and billing.
  6. Perform equipment quality assurance, calibration, and report malfunctions.
  7. Serve as a resource, role model, and preceptor for staff and students, and assist in clinical problem solving and patient education.
  8. Perform patient positioning and transport duties safely, including lifting and moving patients.
  9. Provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and interpret patient data accordingly.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registered by ARRT or CNMT certification by NMTCB.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Nuclear Medicine.

Experience Required:

  • Typically 2 years in a Nuclear Medicine Technologist role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, and state-specific radioactive materials program requirements.
  • Proficiency in IV, venipuncture, ECG interpretation, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and independent work skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as specified, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling 30 lbs, and transferring patients safely.
  • Exposure to hazards and need for PPE, with clear speech, vision, and hearing required.

Pay Range:

$40.30 - $60.45
