Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of registered MRI experience and ARRT (MR) certification for weekend coverage shifts at a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital.

The role requires BLS, licensing where applicable, Abdomen/MRCP imaging, and PACS/contrast experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented imaging department using Cerner and Fuji Synapse charting. Travel housing provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a registered MRI technologist required.
• BLS and ARRT (MR) certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• Experience required in Adult Acute Care, Adult ICU, Adult Outpatient, and ER/Trauma settings.
• MRI procedure experience required in Abdomen and MRCP imaging.
• IV start skills required.
• PACS and contrast experience preferred.
• Never works alone; supported by department team.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital setting.
• MRI department equipped with one Philips scanner.
• Average caseload of 20-25 patients per 24 hours across the department, not per tech.
• Weekend coverage required: 16 hours per day Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
• Remaining 8 hours scheduled as an evening shift (2:30 PM-11:00 PM) on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
• No call requirement.
• No floating requirement.
• Uses Cerner and Fuji Synapse charting systems.
• First-time travelers accepted if MRI registered with 2 years of experience.
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required.
• Free parking provided for travelers.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1-March 31) unless medically exempt with documentation.
• COVID vaccine not required.
• 100-mile radius rule applies; candidates living 75-99 miles away considered on a case-by-case basis for facility approval.
• No RTO restrictions.
• Permanent employees cannot return as travelers within 2 years of their last permanent work date.
