Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ year of experience for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital. The role requires ARRT(R) or NMTCB plus ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification, BLS, and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Shifts are 8 hours, Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with a 13-week contract and no weekend rotation. Candidates must provide references and SSN/DOB details for consideration.

Qualifications

• ARRT(N) or NMTCB and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of core MRI experience required, with recent experience within the last year
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Level I Trauma and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
• MRI department averages 40-45 patients per day
• Treats adults and pediatric patients from ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across a full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
• Uses EPIC EMR and Siemens 1.5T magnets
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• No floating required
• No rotation between weekdays and weekends; travelers stay on the same shift throughout the contract
• Call requirement shared fairly among staff
• 13-week contract with consistent shift and schedule as agreed
• Department supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager
• Diverse team ranging from new grads to long-tenured staff
• 5-day departmental orientation, flexible based on traveler needs
• Facility and departmental tour with introductions provided
• Travelers expected to help with holiday coverage unless time off is approved in advance
• RTO subject to manager approval
• Black scrubs required for technologists
• Free team member parking available across several parking decks
• Strong teamwork culture with high clinical skill standards in a fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
