Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist to join a Level 2 Trauma Center. The role requires ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) certification and 1+ years of MRI experience.

Shifts are 4x10 hours (0700-1730 Mon-Sat and 1030-2100 Mon-Fri) with on-call coverage Mon-Sat 2100-0700 and Sunday 0700-1900, plus a scheduled 40 hours per week. BLS certification and IV contrast competency are required, with state licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) certification required; ARMRIT accepted as alternative.
• BLS certification required and non-expiring prior to start.
• 1-2 years MRI hospital experience preferred; acute care exposure preferred.
• Level 2 Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Must have state licensure to administer IV contrast and complete related modules.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations per protocol with proper patient identification.
• Work in a Level 2 Trauma Center MRI department.
• Maintain infection control and QC for ACR compliance.
• Operate MRI equipment and coordinate with radiologists.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a Level 2 Trauma Center position requiring ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) certification and 1+ years of MRI experience.

Requirements

• ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) certification required; ARMRIT accepted as alternative
• BLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)
• 1-2 years of MRI Tech hospital experience strongly preferred
• 6-12 months of acute care experience strongly preferred
• Level 2 Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required
• Current state licensure required to administer IV contrast
• License required if applicable
• Must meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
• Must complete controlled substance and moderate sedation modules within six months of hire, where applicable
• Physical demands include hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing

Responsibilities

• Work in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging department of an acute care hospital
• Level 2 Trauma Center setting
• 4x10 hour swing shift schedule, 0700-1730 Monday-Saturday and 1030-2100 Monday-Friday
• On-call coverage required Mon-Sat 2100-0700 and Sunday 0700-1900, in addition to scheduled 40 hours weekly
• Uses Epic for charting
• Perform MRI examinations per department protocol, ensuring proper patient identification and order verification
• Demonstrate anatomical positioning competency and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy
• Select appropriate scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
• Administer IV contrast material under physician or radiologist supervision following proper protocol
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques
• Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment, including understanding magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and related computer systems
• Understand quench procedures and MRI safety policies including the four-zone concept
• Complete accurate documentation including time stamps, image storage, coding, charging, and consents
• Maintain current QC program for ACR compliance and report equipment issues
• Permanent Intermountain staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
