Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images.
• Work with MRI systems, surface coils, gating devices and related equipment.
• Use PACS and radiology information systems for records and archiving.
• Prepare patients to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety.
• Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients and staff.
• Select pulse sequences and protocols for data acquisition.
• Assist physicians with interventional procedures and aseptic technique.
• Evaluate image quality and reconstruct images for review.
• Complete required reports and communicate with the team; may mentor students.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program

• ARRT(R) and ARRT(MRI) certification required

• Proficiency with venipuncture, contrast media administration, and patient positioning

Responsibilities

• Hospital and trauma center setting
• 24 hours per week, 2x12-hour shifts on Mondays and Fridays
• May require flexible hours, alternate shifts, weekends, and call coverage as needed
• Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Works with magnetic resonance systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
• Uses radiology information systems including PACS
• Prepares and instructs patients to ensure cooperation, minimize anxiety, and obtain desired imaging results
• Applies MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
• Selects appropriate pulse sequences and protocols for data acquisition
• Assists physicians with interventional procedures and practices aseptic technique
• Evaluates image and data quality, manipulates and reconstructs digital images for review
• Completes required records and reports, archiving images for physician interpretation
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and may provide instruction to students or partners
• Initiates basic life support actions when necessary
