Job summary

Dermatology Partners is seeking a Travel Medical Assistant to support clinics across the region. You’ll cover call-outs and vacations, perform patient intake, and document exams in our EMR.

You’ll assist with procedures, convey patient education, handle prior authorizations, schedule follow-ups, and ensure HIPAA compliance. Travel between locations is required.

Responsibilities

• Traveling to the clinics within the Region to assist in coverage for Call outs and vacations
• Proper intake of the patient (history and chief complaint)
• Documenting during the exam on our EMR system
• Assisting with Medical Procedures such as removing sutures, administering local anesthetic, and applying patches for allergy testing and transcribing reaction strengths
• Deliver patient education and documentation on disease, would care, medications, and pathology Reports and diagnosis.
• Properly conducting Prior authorizations for medications/sending medications to pharmacy as prescribed by Provider
• Schedule follow up appointments at the end of each exam
• Responding timely to messages sent by patients to you or the team (24 hours)
• Ensuring start of day/end of day tasks are completedCompleting all duties in accordance with HIPAA and other medical regulations
• Other duties as assigned
