Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a TRAVEL Mechanical Assembler in Chicago for a contract position. The role involves assembling sub-assemblies and large components from blueprints and specs, measuring parts with precision tools, and safely handling components with overhead cranes and rigging.

You will read 2D/3D prints, follow shop orders, and work both independently and in teams. Strong attention to detail and safety are essential for timely, high-quality machine builds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and machine building.
• Ability to read and interpret entry-level blueprints, schematics, and prints.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components per production requirements.
• Read and follow blueprints, 2D/3D prints, shop orders, and specifications.
• Measure parts with precision tools to ensure proper fit and tolerances.
• Operate overhead cranes and rigging safely to move components.
• Use hand and power tools (drill presses, band saws, cut-off saws) for assembly tasks.
• Collaborate with team to resolve assembly issues and ensure quality.
