Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Travel Mechanical Assembler in Detroit, MI. You will perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and large components, reading entry-level blueprints and shop orders, and using precision tools to measure parts.

You will operate overhead cranes and rigging, and use hand and power tools to complete OEM assemblies in a team environment. You will read schematics for electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, ensure quality, and follow safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
• Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and machine building is desirable.
• Ability to read and assemble from 2D/3D prints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components per production requirements.
• Read and follow blueprints, prints, shop orders, and specifications to assemble parts and equipment.
• Measure parts with precision tools to ensure proper fit and tolerances.
• Move and position components using overhead cranes and rigging as needed.
• Use hand and power tools (drills, band saws, cut-off saws) in assembly tasks.
• Collaborate with team to resolve assembly issues and maintain quality.
