Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support primary production and supply facilities. You will troubleshoot, install, upgrade, and maintain equipment to meet SONAC quality standards, with travel required to various sites.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, documentation, and safe work practices in a manufacturing setting, with on-call responsibilities and regional travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work well in a high-stress environment.
• Travel regionally (~25%) and maintain valid travel documents.

Responsibilities

• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, listening for problems, and using precision instruments.
• Fabricate repair parts using maintenance shop machinery and equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical codes, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment.
• Ensure completion of preventive maintenance requirements.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance instructions and practices.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment following all safety directives and regulations.
• Complete maintenance records (Work Orders, Permits, inventories) documenting the maintenance process.
• Document maintenance activities in computerized records.
• Maintain adequate spare equipment, parts, and supplies; project inventory levels and place requests as needed.
• Be on call on a rotating basis for maintenance coverage outside of normal hours.
• Travel to supply sites to perform maintenance, training, and troubleshooting.
