Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker 1 to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under supervision. The role includes equipment installation support, machine repairs, and routine lubrication.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience, and basic welding, electrical, and mechanical skills, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with company rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a forklift preferred.
• Basic welding, electrical, and mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installation of new equipment.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor on fabrication/construction projects.
• Trains Level 1 Maintenance personnel when applicable.
• Performs machine repair and installation: motors, gear boxes, piping, pumps, seals, welds.
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnoses and replaces parts with minimal direction.
• Diagnoses and repairs control circuits and VFD installations.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and follows safety rules.
• Attends safety meetings and may serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.
