Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel RN for a Long Term Acute Care assignment in Alexandria, VA. The role is a 13-week travel position with 36 hours per week on a night shift, 12-hour blocks.

The RN must have LTAC or high-acuity experience and certs such as ACLS/BLS, with eligibility for state licensure. You will provide direct nursing care, monitor patients, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN with 1+ year experience in LTAC or high-acuity setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Eligible for State licensure in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, monitor vitals and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and advanced wound management.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians and case managers on treatment plans.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs to ensure proper patient care delivery.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Document care activities in real time and participate in rounds.
