Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Long Term Acute Care assignment in Atlanta, GA. The role requires 1 year of LTAC/high-acuity RN experience, BLS, and eligibility for GA licensure. The position is travel-based, 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

The traveler will provide direct patient care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and support discharge planning in a demanding LTAC setting. Certifications like ACLS may be required before starting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience in LTAC or similar high-acuity setting.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and other certifications may be required.
• Eligible for Georgia state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV meds, manage central lines, monitor vital signs and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care, advanced wound management.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians, and case managers.
• Support mobility, hygiene and nutritional needs; supervise LPNs and CNAs.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.
• Document care activities in real time; participate in rounds.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
