Job summary

Sweetwater Care in Montana seeks an LVN Nurse Manager to oversee nursing care within scope, ensure policy compliance, and support physician orders in a long-term care setting.

The role requires a current LVN license (CA if applicable) or compact-state license, and preferred one year of nursing management experience, with strong LTC exposure and familiarity with PointClickCare charting.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license in CA if contract is in California OR a compact license for compact states.
• One year of nursing management experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) settings is required.
• Proficiency with PointClickCare charting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and uses Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Program implementation.
• Utilizes Quality Life Manual for patient placement and monitoring.
• Communicates patient changes to other departments (room changes, LOA, admits, discharge).
• Educates patients and families.
• Administers medications timely and per policy.
• Transcribes and executes physician orders, when permitted by state Nurse Practice Act.
• Assists physicians during rounds.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in state California, if contract is in the state of Califonia. Have a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred
