Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a long-term care/skilled nursing facility in Maine. Requires 2+ years of experience, BLS, IV certification, PICC/G-tube/wound care experience, N95 fit testing, and vaccination per state mandate.

Role includes 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p), every other weekend and holidays, and floating across LTC/SNF/rehab. EMR systems used include Allscripts and My Unity; interdisciplinary team support provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant nursing experience required.
• BLS certification is required.
• IV certification is required.
• Experience with PICC lines, G-tubes, and wound vacs is required.
• N95 mask fit testing is required.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required per Maine state mandate.

Responsibilities

• Work in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility with 38 beds/residents.
• Cares for patients with LTC/SNF diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and post-surgical conditions.
• Patient ratios: days 1:19, nights 1:38.
• Uses Allscripts and My Unity EMR systems.
• 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p).
• Every other weekend and holidays rotated with permanent staff.
• Floating within LTC, SNF, acute rehab, and residential care units.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Admissions, discharges, medication administration, and treatments.
• Nurses perform respiratory treatments when RT is not on-site.
• Interdisciplinary team support: PT/OT/SLP, rehab, case managers, social workers, dietitians.
• Clinical Specialist provides oversight Monday-Friday with an evening team lead.
• Physician available by call after hours.
• Unit-specific orientation includes 3 days on the unit; night shift orientees complete 1 day shift and 2 nights.
• Dress code lime green and black scrubs with visible green.
