Job summary

XOVR CNC Parts & Service is seeking a Laser Applications Specialist to provide expert application support, process optimization, training, and technical solutions for CNC machine tools. This role involves extensive travel across the United States and hands-on problem solving for customers.

The ideal candidate will have CNC equipment experience, laser cutting knowledge (fiber lasers a plus), and the ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.

Qualifications

• Engineering technical knowledge; ME or MET preferred.
• Experience with CNC machine tools.
• Ability to read technical diagrams (layout/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in laser cutting strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Self-motivated with strong customer-service orientation.
• Must live within one hour of a major US airport.

Responsibilities

• Baselining and debugging new CNC equipment systems.
• Training customers and operators on operation and procedures.
• Troubleshooting existing equipment systems.
• Analyzing data to assess machinery performance.
• Documenting safety, maintenance, and operational reports.
• Reading and interpreting diagrams/schematics.
• Collaborating with engineers, service managers, and customers; reporting clearly.
• Providing pre- and post-sales technical support on CNC tools.
• Developing/optimizing cutting parameters for applications.
• On-site or remote troubleshooting as needed.
• Improving machine utilization and cycle times with customers.
• Generating application reports and technical documentation.
• Working with engineering, service, and sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Providing feedback for product improvements.
