Job summary
Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13-week travel assignment in Atlantic, IA. As a member of our team, you'll provide obstetric patient care, monitor maternal and fetal health, and collaborate with a clinical team to support high-quality outcomes.
The role requires one year of L&D RN experience, an active IA RN license, current BLS, and NRP certification. Travel benefits and comprehensive support are provided by Fusion for this assignment.
Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.
Responsibilities
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing protocols.
- Support physician during labor, delivery and examinations.
- Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn assessment.
- Educate patients on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists and neonatologists.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies per evidence-based protocols.
- Document care in the medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement to improve outcomes.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
