Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. Start ASAP with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts. You’ll provide comprehensive obstetric care, monitor fetal distress, assist in cesarean sections, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Required: 1 year L&D RN experience, active RN license, BLS, and NRP. Preferred: AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE, ACLS certifications. Travel benefits and competitive pay included.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
