Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse in Joliet, Illinois. The role requires an RN with L&D specialization, ACLS/BLS/NRP certifications, and 3 years of recent acute care experience.

The travel assignment runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include monitoring labor, assisting with delivery procedures, and ensuring patient and newborn safety throughout the birthing process.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care experience.
• L&D specialty and RN discipline required.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist breathing techniques.
• Assess cervical dilation and fetal status as labor progresses.
• Assist physicians with epidurals, cesarean preparation, and delivery procedures.
• Provide immediate newborn care after birth.
